2009-2011 Strategic Goals


Goal 1: Support Arlington Independent School District (AISD)

  • Continuous communication, reporting, and updating with Dr. Marcelo Cavazos, Associate Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Department
  • Support AISD through Title 1 involvement to strengthen parents and families
  • Provide networking sessions for AISD Pre-K and local child care providers to facilitate “same page” teachings

Goal 2: Support Parents as Primary Caregivers

  • Create new materials focusing on daily reminders/day visual products
  • Support AAECP to provide informational sessions for parents only
  • Support Camp Fire’s Work Family parent efforts 

Goal 3: Support and Strengthen Child Care Providers

  • Identify CCMS Kith and Kin families (informational sessions, support, materials)
  • Support AAECP to continue informational sessions for child care professionals
  • Continue to supply new and former materials for continuous education 

Goal 4: Ongoing Public Awareness and Community Engagement

  • Continue to supply and expand marketing/educational materials (doctors’ offices, ERs, clinics, social work organizations/non-profits, Planned Parenthoods, schools, businesses, etc)
  • Print and distribute Spanish and Vietnamese materials
  • Information and reporting to City Council through Our City, Our Kids and BEC areas and City representatives
  • Identify and develop new partnerships with community organizations 

Research:

  • Continue research with UTA (define with Dr. Jill Fox)
  • ACCC vs. Dallas and Fort Worth projects
  • ACCC viewing ESL & Literacy
