Tarrant County Youth Collaboration - BONDS

Building Opportunities in Neighborhood Development Services

Over the past three years TCYC has been committed to a few key projects that we feel truly build social capital and neighborhood cohesiveness.  From these key projects, TCYC has been able to successfully replicate both the Children’s Neighborhood Network (CNN) and the Building Connections-Building Community (BC2) projects to show lasting, life-changing results.  We believe that by combining these two projects while adding on TCYC’s Middle School Strategic Intervention Project (MSSIP) we can make changes that will serve every member within the community.

In combining these three projects, Building Opportunities in Neighborhood Development Strategies (BONDS) will construct leadership development and community cohesiveness.  Through community revitalization efforts of the CNN, a family resource coordinator to provide assistance to at-risk families to reduce child abuse and neglect through the BC2 project, and community support around the middle school to increase attendance and literacy levels through the MSSIP, the BONDS project will be a successful trifecta project for a community in need.  The BONDS project will have a full-circle support system in place to override the need for outside, costly resources for social service needs.
